2024-2025 Principal's Message

Welcome Principal Remmers!

Welcome Principal Remmers!

Bjorn Remmers

Hello Alamo Nation,

My name is Bjorn Remmers, and this is my third year as the principal of Alamo Elementary.

I’m a California native, and aside from high school and college, I’ve spent most of my life in the Bay Area. I spent much of my formative years growing up in nearby Piedmont, but have more recently spent the last ten years living in Marin County, Sonoma County, and now San Ramon.  I have a wife, Willa, and a four-year-old son, Nolan.

Aside from spending time with family and friends, other hobbies include boogie boarding, traveling the world, exploring cities, checking out restaurants, and rooting for the Warriors! One of my favorite places in California is called Three Arch Bay, a tiny little cove in the Laguna Beach area, where I spent many a summer playing in the ocean.

As for my career, I have been in education for the past 25 years. I taught for 19 years and have been in administration for the past six years. I did my student teaching right here in SRVUSD and taught for ten years in Walnut Creek. I also taught and was in administration in Tiburon, and spent four years as principal of Mary E. Silveira Elementary School in Marinwood, a neighborhood in San Rafael. What I love most about elementary school is the passion and innocence kids at this age have. Their fun energy is infectious!

Ensuring that our students are in a great place socially and emotionally, thriving academically, and having fun is of the utmost importance to me.  I want kids to love school, and I want parents to feel wonderful about the experience their children are having.

I’m really excited to be here, and love Alamo!

Go Mustangs!
