Words of Gratitude
Dear Alamo Community,
The Hoedown was an epic success, with 760 tickets pre-sold, and over 50 student volunteers. The ONLY way we can pull this massive event off is through the support of our community. This year we had the support of various local businesses through their sponsorships or donations. Please consider using these businesses, and mentioning that you heard about them through their Hoedown donation. Thank you to The Screendoctors Alamo, East West Kung Fu, the Alamo Cafe, MYO Frozen Yogurt, Kehrig Realty, Roundhill Country Club, Alamo Safeway, and Danville Trader Joes.
In addition to our sponsors, and donors, please join me in thanking the following individuals for their efforts.
John Murray, RIck La Torra, Bridget Williams, Rachel Miegel, Mehr Shazad, Shelby MIller, Kristine Worthley, Sarah Unruh, Kelly Bowes, and Rathna Pai for their help in the weeks leading into the event.
All of our generous donors, including everyone who donated a dessert or cake for the cake walk (over 100 families donated) and drinks for our beverage table (50 families donated). In addition, thank you to the Bako and Yahr families for ice and Jen Cohan, Alexandra Cole, Sakshi Arora, and Jenna D'Angelo for pumpkin decorating supplies.
On the day of the event we had SO many helpful volunteers to made our jobs much easier! Thank you to the following people Greg Bottini, Alyson Campbell, Nicole De La Torre, Mona Rizzardi, Liz Lopez, Sarah Riedel, Jasmine Chang, Jonathan Rizzardi, Clayton Laderer Michelle Parkinson, Jenn Anderson, Priscilla Kuhns, Jon Kuhns, Karen Chin, Lauren Brosnan, Sakshi Arora, Lauren Krompier, Shelby MIller, Ashley Knies, Tina Khajevandi, Ben Landry, Erin Brooks, Clare Gobel, Maggie Elder, Kristine Worthley, Tessa Del Rio, Wei Trieu, and Kelly Bowes.
During the event we also had so much help making things run smoothly. Thank you to Travis Haymore, Nicole De La Torre, Karen Zanatti, Shawna Mayer, Natalie Breece, Yunmi Cha, Streisand Hall, Rueyli Muhlfelder, Lydia Awad, HIlarie Bako, Megan Yahr, Aaron Lamson, Agathon Girgis, Allison Ross, Judy Lee, Erin Myers, Nivy Sarathy, and Bridget Williams.
And thank you to those who stayed after the event to help clean up! While we had Bar Mizne, Kevin White, Priscilla Kuhns, Justin Brooks, Neema Mohammadizad, Eric Albertoni and Todd Ahern sign up to help - we had so many more stay late to make the job easier. I was home by 9:30pm - which has never happened for me after a hoedown! So thank you to the entire late night crew!
I would like to give a special shout out to the behind the scenes leadership team we had this year. For the first time, Michelle and I were able to recruit a large group of helpers who did an amazing job taking on a leadership position. Please thank them in person the next time you see them!

Finally there are a few extra special thank yous that need to be mentioned.
Principal Remmers embraced this Alamo tradition immediately. He did whatever he could in the planning process, as well during the event to help Michelle and I! He even special ordered a new tee shirt to wear to the event! As I pulled my car out of the Alamo parking lot on Friday night, there he was finishing some clean-up - he was the last to leave. Please thank Principal Remmers for his support of this event!
Starting in 2019 Michelle and I took on the role of co-chairs of the Hoedown. We have truly worked as a team for the past three hoedowns, and have been helped tremendously by Michelle's husband Tim. The time and effort it takes to pull off an event of this magnitude (especially when we didn't know what we were doing in 2019), is tremendous, but the three of us have laughed our way through it and we have all gained enormous joy watching the kids excitement before, during, and after the event. Helping with the hoedown is an incredibly rewarding experience. We hope that as we pass the torch on to the next set of parents, that you will consider volunteering your time to keep this Alamo tradition alive. Here is the link to the 2023 sign up genius.....just kidding.
With much gratitude for helping my child build lasting memories,
Echo Hamilton
