ThinkWorks enrichment programs provide after-school classes for TK-5th grade students and include math, chess, art, dance, and more!
Registration for the Winter / Spring 2026 session of ThinkWorks is open now through January 22! The session will take place the week of January 26 and continue into the week of May 11. Classes fill up quickly, so be sure to register right away.
A portion of each registration fee comes back to Alamo School Ed Fund.

Ignite your child’s curiosity with a hands-on journey through nature and robotics! This fun STEM and art-based program brings science to life as students explore natural forces like earthquakes, volcanoes, and hurricanes in Nature’s Wonders and design creative mini models to take home. In Robots, they’ll build Spin Bots, Brush Bots, and Walking Bots while learning about robot design and functions. Along the way, they’ll also discover fascinating topics in chemistry, geology, and marine science, connecting creativity, nature, and technology in exciting, hands-on ways.

Crafty Book Club (Grades TK/K) ~ 3:00-4:00pm

Embark on a magical journey where beloved children’s books come alive through stories, movement, and playful activities! Each session begins with an engaging read-aloud carefully chosen to spark curiosity and imagination in young learners. After the story, children participate in simple discussions, interactive games, or movement activities that help them connect with characters and themes in meaningful ways. To extend their learning, each session includes a hands-on craft project that ties directly to the book. Children will take home their very own creation, a keepsake inspired by the story, while building imagination, creativity, early literacy skills, and a lifelong love for reading.

We make Math FUN, ENGAGING & REWARDING
At Mathnasium, we build strong math foundations to help children succeed in school and life. Our math-only program is tailored to each student, starting with a detailed assessment to identify learning gaps and strengths, followed by a tailored curriculum delivered in an engaging and 1:1 teaching setting.
Program Highlights:
- Assessment of skills: First session includes a written assessment and math activity. Results are emailed to parents. If the student is significantly behind, we recommend an additional session per week at our center in Alamo Plaza
- Personalized Learning Plan: Customized based on assessment results, with guidance from our trained instructors in a small student-to-instructor ratio (5:1 or smaller)
- Session Structure: 50 mins of Mathnasium curriculum, followed by 10 mins of fun math activities, spin-the-wheel rewards, and prize redemption
- Integrated Rewards Program: Students earn stars and redeem them for prizes, keeping learning fun and motivating
- Progress Tracking: Families receive a pre-assessment report, ongoing progress report, and a post-assessment report to showcase growth.
- Final Session: Concludes with a review of all skills learned—true masters win a special treasure!
- Inclusive Pricing: Materials and prizes are included. Offering a 2 installment payment plan if needed.

Level-Up LEGO Robotics (Grades 1-5) ~ 2:30 - 4:00pm

Build something simple, then turn the dial—faster, stronger, farther. Each class is an arcade of levels from one daily challenge. Create with LEGO + Technic parts, test until it works, then get teacher input on why. Session spotlights animals and machines that spin or lift—like grip-rolling alligators or towering elevators. Lando is a WASC-accredited, STEM award-winning program.
Note: This class is recommended for Grades 1-3. Grades 4-5 can register as well, but the class may be less challenging for these students.

Mini-Game Coders with Lando (Grades 1-5) ~ 12:50 - 2:20pm

Money Matters - Personal Finance (Grades 1-5) ~ 2:30 - 3:30pm

A solid understanding of money is essential for kids to make smart financial decisions as they grow. Money Matters covers key concepts like budgeting, saving, spending, banking, deposits and withdrawals, interest rates, borrowing, lending, and basic financial markets.
Through interactive activities, students will explore realist currency, create a pop-up bank, and learn about money exchange and circulation by setting up and running a store in the classroom. They’ll also learn about the Federal Reserve and engage with money printing concepts, making financial topics come to life. All NEW projects this session! We will alternate doing Sewing & Gardening each week. “Mom, I want to learn how to sew!” Sewing is not only fun and creative; but, it is a useful learning skill. Children will learn how to safely thread a needle; draw and cut-out a pattern; and sew their own pieces by hand. Sewing techniques learned in this class: running stitch, slip stitch, how to sew buttons, and more. Children will make bags/sacks, holiday decorations and more.

We will alternate doing Spanish & Latin Dance each week. Students will learn how to dance: folkloric, salsa, merengue and more. This is a Hands-on and Interactive, Friendly Spanish Immersion ("FSI") program.
Curriculum consists of: Language time (vocabulary words), exercise time (command words like jump, skip, walk, run, etc.) visuals (flashcards, puzzle pieces, toys, books and more), music (singing), art projects, games and much more. The goal of this program is to introduce the Spanish language and be the first building block for the grades ahead. New material is introduced each session.
