2022-2023 Principal's Message
Welcome Principal Remmers!
I’m a California native, and aside from high school and college, I’ve spent most of my life in the Bay Area. I spent much of my formative years growing up in nearby Piedmont, but have more recently spent the last ten years living in Marin County and Sonoma County. I have a wife, Willa, and a two-year-old son, Nolan. We recently relocated to San Ramon from Petaluma to be closer to family and friends, and because we love this area! Fun fact: My maternal great-grandmother lived on a beautiful walnut orchard right here in Alamo, off Livorna Rd.
Aside from spending time with family and friends, other hobbies include boogie boarding, traveling the world, exploring cities, checking out restaurants, and rooting for the Warriors! One of my favorite places in California is called Three Arch Bay, a tiny little cove in the Laguna Beach area, where I spent many a summer playing in the ocean.
As for my career, I have been in education for the past 24 years. I taught for 19 years and have been in administration for the past five years. I did my student teaching right here in SRVUSD and taught for ten years in Walnut Creek. I also taught and was in administration in Tiburon, and spent the past four years as principal of Mary E. Silveira Elementary School in Marinwood, a neighborhood in San Rafael. What I love most about elementary school is the passion and innocence kids at this age have - their energy is infectious, for sure.
My goal in my first year here at Alamo is to get to know you, your children, this staff, and this community, and to form trusting relationships and connections. The pandemic has taken a toll on schools across the country, so I also want to work to help foster that sense of community this school has had for many years, whether that be with the kids here at school, or with community events outside of school hours. Ensuring that our students are in a great place socially and emotionally, thriving academically, and having fun is of the utmost importance to me. I want kids to love school, and I want parents to feel wonderful about the experience their children are having.
I’m really excited to be here, so thank you for the warm welcome!
See you all soon, and Go Mustangs!
